These examinations add value to a student’s overall academic background. Olympiad exams can be broadly classified into 3 categories National, International and Private Olympiads.
An Olympiad has many objectives. Listed below are some of its key objectives.
There are different types of Olympiads that can be categorised based on the conducting body, subject, and region in which they are conducted. National and international Olympiads are conducted for subjects, namely, Science, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Social Science and Computer.

Olympiad examinations are divided into sections, and each section tests various abilities and subject knowledge of the students.
The general Olympiad exam structure consists of one section covering subject knowledge and a second section covering the students’ aptitude through logical reasoning and aptitude tests.
The difficulty level depends on the class the student is studying. Most of the Olympiads follow the CBSE syllabus. The exams are multiple choice question based (MCQ).
The examination dates for the various Olympiads have been declared well in advance to give students enough time to start their preparations and precisely schedule anything else. Furthermore, because some Olympiads are held in multiple stages, the schedule helps students choose the best possible time.
Students can apply for the Olympiads through their school or independently.
Apply through school: The concerned school must be the Olympiad’s partner school. Students can directly approach the school authorities and apply.
Apply directly: If the school is not a partner of the Olympiad conducting body, students can directly apply through the Olympiad’s official website.
From academic advancement to personal growth, there are numerous benefits of Olympiads. Some of these benefits include but are not limited to the following:
Students are advised to follow the tips below to prepare for the Olympiad exams and excel.
The rankings are awarded based on marks obtained by the students in that particular Olympiad. Sometimes, when two students score the same marks, the timing is considered for measuring the rank. If the time is also found to be the same, both students are awarded the same rank.
