Jadavpur University is a public state-funded research and technology university in Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal. The campus is known for its vibrant student activism and cultural events. There are two campuses: one at Jadavpur and the other at Salt Lake, covering 58 and 26 acres, respectively. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Science, Arts, Engineering, and Technology. Known for its high standards, Jadavpur University has a highly competitive online selection process. The university also boasts a high placement rate of around 80 to 90% annually.
Established in 1984, VIT is a private deemed university located in Katpadi, Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is considered an Institution of Eminence by the government, making it the top private institution for innovation. VIT Vellore University has been accredited with an “A++” grade by NAAC. Anna University is a public state university located in Chennai. It was established on 4th September 1978, after C. N. Annadurai (former Chief Minister) of the state. The UGC recognises the university as a “University with Potential for Excellence” (UPE) and it has been accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC. The university offers 29 undergraduate, 90 postgraduate, and Doctorate level courses under 8 faculties and 30 departments on its 189-acre campus, equipped with modern facilities. The admission process for different undergraduate and postgraduate courses is conducted entirely online.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, also known as Amrita University, is a prestigious research-intensive private deemed university located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is accredited with an NAAC “A++” rating, making it one of the top universities in India. Amrita University has 15 schools spread across six campuses in southern India. TIET (Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology), formerly known as Thapar University, is a private deemed-to-be university located in Patiala, India. Established in 1956 by Karam Chand Thapar, it offers a diverse range of academic courses, including arts, computer science, and business administration. The campus occupies an area of approximately 250 acres. Thapar University is highly regarded for its emphasis on innovation and has been accredited with an “A+” grade by NAAC. Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, also known as BITS Pilani, is a private deemed university located in Pilani, Rajasthan. Established in 1964, it has three other campuses in Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. BITS Dubai is an internationally recognised deemed university. In 2018, BITS was awarded the title of Institute of Eminence. BITS conducts BITSAT (BITS Admission Test), an all-India computerised admission test. It is a central university located in the capital of the country, New Delhi. It was established in 1920, and the university is recognised by the UGC and accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC. The university offers UG, PG and Research Level programs. JMI offers courses in various disciplines such as engineering, humanities, law, management, education, science etc. Some of the popular courses offered by the JMI are B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, PhD, B.Sc. and M.Sc. Admissions are based on the university’s and national-level entrance exams such as JEE, NATA, CUET and NEET. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan is a private deemed university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was founded in 1996 as the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) and received AICTE approval for B.Tech. SOA is UGC-approved and accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade. It is one of the 35 universities in India to be internationally ranked by QS. Admission to the university is based on the SAAT (Siksh ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Test), JEE Main, GATE, NEET, and other national-level competitive exams for various courses. Additionally, the university provides scholarships to the students.
Established in 1985, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University Chennai, is a highly ranked university approved by the UGC and AICTE. The IET Engineering, the Engineering and Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the NAAC with “A++” Grade accredit it. The university offers many courses, including UG, PG, PhD, Diploma, and other disciplines such as Management, Architecture, Engineering, Agriculture, and more. Situated in Kattankulathur, Chennai, the university also provides distance education and online courses. The most sought-after courses at SRM Chennai are MBA and B.Tech. Admission to most courses is based on entrance exam scores. For the B.Tech program, admission is based on SRMJEEE UG scores, although the university also accepts several national-level entrance exams.
Delhi Technological University, commonly known as DTU, is a leading technical university located in Rohini, Delhi. The university holds an “A” grade accreditation from NAAC and NBA. It is also recognised by UGC and AICTE and has obtained an ISO certification. DTU offers over 60 courses across 17 different departments. The university is renowned for its flagship programs, namely MBA and B.Tech. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main scores followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process.
