Note: Choice filling is completely free of cost and no changes can be made once the filled choice is locked.
Step 3: Mock Seat Allotment: JoSAA 2022 mock seat allotment will be held by authorities to help applicants in knowing their chances of admission into their desired colleges. If the colleges and courses allotted during the mock seat allocation are unsatisfactory, the candidates may change their order preferences accordingly.
Since the allotment is not final, the candidates will have enough time to change their order of preferences.
Step 4: JoSAA 2022 Seat Allotment: Following mock allocation, the final JoSAA 2022 seat allocation will be held in 6 rounds. Seats are assigned to candidates based on their scores in qualifying exams (JEE Main & JEE Advanced) and their selected preferences. To check the JoSAA 2022 Seat Allocation result, follow the given steps:
After seat allotment, candidates can choose any one of the following options:
Freeze: Candidates must choose this option if they are happy with the seat they have been assigned and do not want to take part in any additional rounds of counselling.
Float: Candidates must choose this option if they want to accept the seat they have been assigned but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher-preferred institutes or courses.
Slide: Candidates should choose this option to confirm their allotment but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher-preferred courses in the same institute.
Step 5: Seat Acceptance: After downloading the allotment letter, candidates need to pay the seat acceptance fee which is as follows:
Category | Fees (INR) |
SC, ST and PwD categories | Rs 15,000 |
Other categories | Rs 35,000 |
Step 6: Reporting for Document Verification: Once the candidates have accepted the seat, they need to report at the prescribed reporting center to get their documents verified.
Note: For candidates who select the float option may get a better seat in the next counselling round, therefore they must report again with the documents for verification.
Step 7: Reporting for Admission: After completing all the processes, candidates need to report at their allocated JoSAA college to finish further formalities of the admission procedure to confirm their admission.
