Aspirants can go through the below step-by-step process of JoSAA registration and choice-filling to better understand the complete process.
The first step candidates need to take is to register for the counselling process. Visit the official website of JoSAA and log in with the JEE Main roll number and password. If the candidate is JEE Advanced qualified, then use the JEE Advanced passcode to complete the registration.
Candidates are advised to please cross-verify their details as they can only update their contact information.
After completing the registration process, candidates must choose their preferred branch and colleges and lock in their choices. The choice-filling process is free; students have ten days to complete it.
Candidates must remember that the last step of the registration process is to lock in their selected choices. It’s important to confirm and review their choices, as changes will not be accepted once the choices are locked. Take a printout for future reference.
The authorities will conduct a mock seat allotment to help the candidates determine their chances of admission into their desired colleges and branch. If candidates are unsatisfied with the allotted seats during the mock seat allocation, they may change their order preferences accordingly.
The final JoSAA 2024 seat allocation will be conducted in 5 rounds following the mock seat allocation. Candidates are assigned seats based on their JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualifying marks and selected preferences.
After the seat allotment process, candidates can choose any one of the following options:
After the allotment of seats and downloading the allotment letter, candidates need to pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000/- for other categories and Rs. 15,000/- for reserved categories.
The fee can be paid online (Credit/Debit card or Netbanking) or through e-challan (offline).
