The news all the engineering aspirants of the country are eagerly waiting for has finally arrived. NTA has announced the JEE Main 2022 registrations and exam dates. As per the official release, the JEE Main 2022 exam is to be conducted in two sessions and candidates need to fill out the application form separately for both sessions. For session 1, JEE Main 2022 registrations have begun from 1 March 2022 and the revised exam dates will be June 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2022 (Revised). JEE Main 2022:

Joint Entrance Exam Main is the engineering entrance exam conducted by NTA for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programs of the country. It consists of two papers, paper 1 is conducted for admission in B.E./ B.Tech programs of IIITs, NITs, CFTI (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also the prerequisite eligibility test for JEE Advanced which is conducted to grant admissions to IITs. Paper 2 is commenced for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the Country.

As per NTA, this year the JEE Main exam will be held in two sessions, which means a candidate will have two attempts to clear JEE Main 2022.

Benefits of two attempts for JEE Main 2022:

  • To attempt means that if candidates are unable to perform well in one attempt, they will be given a second chance to enhance their exam marks.
  • With the first attempt, the students will gain first-hand experience of taking an examination and will become aware of their mistakes, which can be rectified on the second attempt.
  • The chances of dropping a year would be reduced. Droppers will not have to waste an entire year with a second attempt.
  • If a candidate misses the exam due to circumstances out of their control (such as the Board exams), they will not have to wait an entire year.
  • It is not mandatory for a candidate to attend both sessions. If a candidate appears in more than one session, the best of their JEE (Main) – 2022 scores will be taken into account when preparing the Merit List/Ranking.

Registrations:

As per the official announcement, the JEE Main 2022 registrations for session 1 have begun on 1 March 2022 and the last date has been extended till 5 April 2022 (up to 9:50 PM) and the last date of fee payment is 5 April 2022 up to 11:50 PM IST.
