On Wednesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon set up an office in the UAE. This news came during his visit to Abu Dhabi, where he met with HE Sara Musallam, the Minister of Secretary. During the visit, Pradhan also emphasised the significance of the upcoming IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus, which is scheduled to commence classes in January 2024.
Additionally, Minister Pradhan had a fruitful meeting with Ahmad Al Falasi, the Minister of Education. They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between educational institutions in both countries. This MoU aims to promote student and faculty mobility, joint research programs, course development, and various collaborative initiatives.
The MoU is expected to streamline regulations, legal structures, and best practices in general and higher education in both nations. It will also address issues such as national qualifications frameworks to enable mutual recognition of qualifications and encourage academic collaboration between higher education institutions for joint degree programs and more. This development marks a significant step in strengthening educational ties between India and the UAE.
