The Class 12th Mathematics exam is just around the corner, scheduled for 8th March. With only two days left, it’s time to focus on quick revision and exam preparation. In this blog, we will cover an exam day checklist and important revision tips to help you perform your best.

Class 12th Mathematics Exam Day Checklist:

To avoid last-minute stress, ensure you have everything ready for the exam. Here’s a detailed checklist:

  • Admit Card – This is the most important document. Double-check and place it in your bag the night before. Losing it can cause unnecessary panic.
  • Stationery Kit – Carry extra pens, pencils, an eraser, a sharpener, a scale, and a geometry box. If possible, keep two black and two blue pens, as some students experience ink leakage during exams.
  • Calculator (if allowed) – Some exams permit the use of a simple calculator. If yours does, make sure it is functioning properly and the battery is fully charged.
  • Water Bottle – Carry a transparent water bottle to stay hydrated, as dehydration can lead to fatigue and lack of concentration.
  • Watch – A simple wristwatch helps you keep track of time since digital watches and smartwatches are not allowed in most exam centers.
  • Mask & Sanitizer (if required) – Some exam centers still follow COVID-19 protocols, so check beforehand and carry a mask and sanitizer if needed.
  • ID Proof (if required) – Some schools may ask for an additional identity proof such as a school ID card. Check the exam guidelines.
  • Handkerchief or Tissue – Sweaty palms can make writing uncomfortable. Keep a handkerchief or tissue to wipe your hands and maintain a firm grip on the pen.
  • A Positive Mindset – Last but not least, stay confident! Nervousness can affect performance, so take deep breaths and enter the exam hall with a calm mind.

Exam Day Revision Tips:

1. Revise Important Formulas:

  • Mathematics is formula-driven. Revise all important formulas from Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, and Probability.
  • Prepare a formula sheet with all important equations and identities.
  • Solve 5–10 direct application problems using those formulas to ensure you remember them.

2. Focus on NCERT Questions:

  • Most board exam questions are based on NCERT textbooks.
  • Revise all solved examples, exercise questions, and miscellaneous problems.
  • Check previous years’ board questions related to each chapter, as many questions get repeated.

3. Solve Sample Papers & Previous Year Papers:

  • Take at least one full-length mock test under exam conditions.
  • Solve previous year’s CBSE board exam questions to understand the question pattern and marking scheme.
  • After attempting, analyze your mistakes and work on weak areas.

4. Time Management Strategy:

  • Divide the exam duration effectively:
    • 10 minutes: Read the entire question paper carefully and decide your approach.
    • 60 minutes: Solve Section A & B (short-answer questions) efficiently.
    • 70 minutes: Attempt Section C & D (long-answer questions) with detailed solutions.
    • 10 minutes: Go through your answers, correct errors, and ensure clarity.
  • Write in a structured manner with neat calculations to fetch better marks.

5. Avoid New Topics:

  • Do not start a new topic at this stage, as it may lead to confusion.
  • Instead, revise already practiced topics and strengthen your strong areas.

6. Get Enough Rest:

  • Your brain functions best when it is well-rested.
  • Sleep for at least 6-7 hours to avoid stress and mental fatigue.
  • Avoid last-minute cramming, as it can create confusion rather than clarity.

7. Eat Light & Stay Hydrated:

  • Have a light and nutritious meal before the exam.
  • Avoid heavy, oily, or junk food, as it can cause discomfort and make you sluggish.
  • Drink enough water but limit caffeine to avoid dehydration and restlessness.

On the Exam Day: How to Approach/Attempt the Paper:

  • Read the Paper Carefully – Spend the first 10 minutes reading all the questions properly. Highlight key terms like “Find,” “Prove,” “Differentiate,” or “Evaluate.”
  • Start with Easy Questions – Solve the ones you are most confident about first. It will boost confidence and help you save time for tougher ones.
  • Show Stepwise Solutions – Even if the final answer is incorrect, stepwise solutions fetch partial marks.
  • Highlight Final Answers – Box the answers or underline important results for better readability.
  • Use Diagrams & Graphs – In Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, and Calculus, neatly drawn diagrams can help you earn extra marks.
  • Manage Time Efficiently – If a question takes too long, move ahead and come back to it later.
  • Recheck Your Answers – Use the last 10 minutes to verify calculations, correct errors, and ensure neatness.

Success in Class 12th Mathematics comes from consistent practice and smart revision. With only a short time left, focus on important topics, formulas, and previous years’ papers. Stay calm and confident, and you’ll do great on exam day!
